Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! By Marriott Johannesburg Melrose Arch, Johannesburg

My stay at this hotel was a mix of pleasant and not-so-great experiences. The rooms, while clean and beautiful, had a bad smell when you enter, and my room overlooked construction instead of the pool as I expected. Despite these drawbacks, the rooms were comfortable and reasonably sized. The service was absolutely wonderful, with helpful staff always eager to assist. The location is fantastic, offering a safe and secure environment with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The dining experience, which should be included in the high price, was quite enjoyable with a great buffet and cooked-to-order eggs. The facilities were adequate, though there is room for improvement in certain areas.

I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location is superb, surrounded by trendy restaurants and bars in the beautiful Melrose Arch Precinct. The rooms were comfortable and clean, although the window didn't close properly. The service was fantastic, with friendly and attentive staff. The dining experience offered a wide variety that easily satisfied my requirements, but there was a 30-minute delay for breakfast. The facilities were top-notch, making my stay even more pleasant.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The rooms were well decorated in a trendy black & white style, but some signs of wear and tear were visible. The single beds were comfortable, but it was a bit disappointing that the window didn't close properly since it was single glazed.
